A SC Century Farm. Family farming tradition since 1860.
Our story
We’re Marty & Denese Tyler, owners and operators of Tyler’s Flower Farm. Our farm was previously well-known in our county for more than 50 years as Tyler’s Strawberry Farm under the ownership of Marty’s father, Thomas Ethell Tyler. When his father passed, Marty inherited a portion of his father’s farm which is a portion of the original farm that Marty’s great-great grandfather purchased in 1860. (Marty is the 5th generation to reside on and work the farm.) Because of current strawberry farm saturation in our county, we converted the strawberry farm into a specialty cut flower farm in 2023 when Denese retired from teaching at Horry County Schools. It has been a lot of hard work, a lot of getting our hands dirty, and starting, literally, from the ground UP!
We enjoy the agritourism side of farming. We love welcoming families to the farm for you-pick events and workshops. We hope our you-pickers and event participants value and enjoy the beauty of the farm as much as we do. And when they visit our farm, we hope they get to experience at least one stunning sunset view that we often enjoy from the farm.
“Thank you for a beautiful arrangement. So many compliments from my co-workers. Love these flowers.”
